- 1 lb asparagus trimmed
- 8-10 slices of prosciutto halved lengthwise
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- Freshly cracked black pepper optional
- Lemon zest or shaved Parmesan for garnish optional
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears by snapping them or cutting with a knife.
Take a slice of prosciutto and wrap it tightly around each asparagus spear, starting at the base and spiraling upward.
Arrange the wrapped asparagus on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper, if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crispy and the asparagus is tender.
