- 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey/plant-based meat
- 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade mix
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 can refried beans 15 oz
- 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a mix
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Optional toppings: shredded lettuce diced tomatoes, avocado, tortilla chips, hot sauce
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
Add taco seasoning and salsa to the beef, stirring to combine.
In a greased 9x13 casserole dish, place one tortilla at the bottom. Spread a thin layer of refried beans, beef mixture, and shredded cheese. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with a tortilla and cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve with your favorite toppings.
