- Ingredients:
- 2 medium onions thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil for onions
- 1 tsp sugar optional, for onions
- 1 large flatbread store-bought or homemade
- 1 tbsp olive oil for brushing flatbread
- 2 ripe pears thinly sliced
- 4 oz goat cheese softened
- Fresh arugula or crushed walnuts optional, for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over low heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized (about 15-20 minutes). Add sugar for extra sweetness if desired.
Place the flatbread on the prepared baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
Spread the goat cheese evenly over the flatbread.
Top with caramelized onions and arrange the pear slices evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the flatbread is golden and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh arugula or crushed walnuts if desired.
